The human digestive system is much more complex than most animals on earth.
As you can see by the diagram above, there are lots of parts in the human digestive system. The digestive process starts with the mouth. teeth and saliva are the first things that your body iuses to break down food. slavatory plands excrete the proper ammount of saliaiva for the food and the enzymes break down the food. like cows and horses, the food travels to the stomach. here, gastric acud breaks down the food even more and other enzymes are introduced into the food. next, the food goes to the small intestine. the small intestine is mad up of three parts. The small intestine is made up of the duodenum, the jejunum and the ileum. in the duodenum, certain vitamins and minerals are absorbed and they go to vital parts of your body. it is a small aprt that takes up only ten percent of the small intestine. in the other two parts of the small intestine. food id broken up into smaller pieces and nutriesmts are extracted. nutrients are extracted by little hairlike strictures callled willies. from here the nutrients go into the bloodstream to be used. the undigested food bits then go to the large intestine. here, water and some salts are added to the undigested pieces. this piece is then excreted throught the rectum and the process s overA
